Bellingham Day Trip - CGNW Recommends
Spending just a day in Bellingham and looking for a quick bite or a place to relax for a while? Here’s what you won’t want to miss: Breakfast
Mount Bakery features an array of breakfast offerings, and we recommend the crepes! Pro tip: if there are two of you, order one savory crepe and one sweet to split, for the complete breakfast experience.
The Birch Door Cafe is the place to go for a breakfast delight. Try the Blueberry Lemon Cobbler French Toast - the lemon curd takes it to the next level.
Meals
Avenue Bread’s menu includes soups and salads, but features amazing sandwiches made on in-house artisan bread. Their bread is also sold at the Co-op, Aslan Brewing Co., Whole Foods and Fred Meyer.
Black Sheep Bellingham (21+) is our team’s go-to for amazing tacos and margaritas, especially when seated outdoors on a hot and sunny day. Insider secret: the house grapefruit soda used in their palmetto is available separately for a delicious alcohol-free beverage option.
Coffee
Woods has become a PNW staple in the last two decades, with coffee shops in three counties. The very first store was opened in Lynden, and there are now eight locations in Bellingham. Founder and CEO Wes Herman told the whole story on the Building Bellingham Podcast.
Makeworth Market is a newer cafe in the Bellingham area, but skyrocketed to cultural hub status with its light, open and airy space on the corner of N State and E Chestnut.
Beer & Brews
Overflow Taps (21+) has been a great friend of the Cohen Group NW for a couple years now, and is the location of our Clean Water Happy Hour events.
Aslan Brewing Co (family friendly) not only offers in-house beer, but a full menu of beer-friendly food. We love these places and we know you will too! Keep in mind that offerings, menus and seating may be limited due to COVID-19.
