CGNW Recommends: Bellewood Farms
When I think of fall in Whatcom County, I think of spiced cider, pumpkins, and corn mazes. This morning Cooper and I (#mediateamforthewin) went to a local farm just a few minutes north of Bellingham that has all of these, and then some.
Our goal was just to go and get the film clips and photos that would capture the essence of being at Bellewood Farms. Well, when we pulled in right around 8am, the eastern sky backlit low-hanging clouds, and Mount Baker stood in all its majesty beyond the end of the pumpkin field. Just cold enough to enjoy a brisk walk around the grounds, but not so cold as to avoid picking up pumpkins or clambering around the playground made of tractor tires. The corn maze welcomed us into its beige and yellow arms, and we meandered through its curves and turns before being released back into the open air of an October morning in Whatcom County.
We went to capture the magic, and ended up experiencing it for ourselves.
Between the distillery, the U-Pick orchard, the cafe & farm store with local and homemade goodies, the seasonal events, and the free activities (and photo ops!) on the grounds, there’s plenty for all ages to enjoy.
