CGNW Recommends: Mount Bakery
The Mount Bakery just might have the best eggs Benedict in town, and with six variations to choose from, they definitely have a great selection. You can’t go wrong with the original “Best Benny”, but Cooper (our social media Jedi) also highly recommends the Waffle Eggs Benedict. Leo usually gets the Crepos Rancheros (with black beans, enchilada sauce, and sour cream), and I think that the perfect breakfast hack would be ordering both a filling savory option (like the sausage crepe - it has two scambled eggs in it) and one of the delectable sweet options (try the lemon curd) and splitting each with your dining partner. I haven’t yet tried the lunch menu, but I know two things: (1) the breakfast menu is so varied and delicious, I’ll be working through that for quite some time; and (2) the lunch menu is bound to be amazing once I do get around to it.
The place has been a staple of Bellingham cozy cuisine for years now, and has accumulated over 400 reviews on Google and over 250 on Yelp. Like any small place that’s grown in popularity, it has its share of reviews complaining about long wait times (up to an hour) both to be seated and to receive orders. Also, since the location is downtown (on Champion St. next to the Flatiron building), street parking can be an issue.
Have you been to the Bakery recently? How has your experience been?
