Today is Wednesday and that means it’s time for this week’s market update. Last week in Whatcom County, we saw 21 new homes came up for sale, and 41 homes went under contract.

Median prices for single family homes increased $30,000 in December, up to $488,000 (all prices rounded to the nearest thousand). Bellingham’s current median price is $520,000 for detached single family, with condos at $320,000.

For single family homes, days-on-market is at 6 days in Bellingham, and 9 in Lynden, Ferndale & Blaine. Whatcom County’s median is 8. (For comparison, the county’s median days-on-market in December of 2019 was 26.)

254 homes closed in December in our county, with 117 of those closings located in Bellingham.  As of the time of this writing, there were only 22 traditional single-family homes available for sale under $1 million in the Bellingham area.
