November's Numbers
November’s numbers are in so let’s see how the Whatcom County real estate market did last month.
The number of new listings dove down to 233, from October’s 368. This drop of 135 houses isn’t quite steep as the same time last year, when new listings dropped 156 units from October to November.
Total number of homes sold also saw a dip as we head into the winter season, a drop of nearly 17% from October to November, compared to 15% last year.
Median days on market slid from 11 to 8 days in Whatcom County, with Bellingham easing up from 6 to 7 days on market. Days on market dropped in Lynden, Ferndale and in Blaine in November.
As for current market supply, there were 321 homes and condos available for sale in Whatcom County when I pulled numbers Monday morning, and 95 homes and condos available across Bellingham.
Based on sales over the last 15 months, there is currently 1.1 months’ supply of inventory in Bellingham, and 0.7 months’ supply of inventory in Whatcom County. Our longstanding sellers market continues.
