Why the Bellingham Real Estate Company?

When we announced the new firm, plenty of folks (both in and out of the industry) expressed doubts or curiosity about the name Bellingham Real Estate Company - why would we 'limit' ourselves with such a place-specific brand?
1. Since the inception of the Cohen Group NW, our team has closed 217 homes with a Bellingham address, which is over half of our entire production, including referrals to out-of-state brokers. We're unashamedly a Bellingham-based brand.
2. Over the last 3 years we've developed a Bham lifestyle brand to continue this emphasis on our immediately local community.
3. But... we're not ignoring the area around us either. From our What's Up in Whatcom county highlights to our 49 past sales in Blaine, 40 in Ferndale, 15 in Maple Falls and on through Mount Vernon, Sedro-Woolley and unincorporated areas, we gladly sell homes across Whatcom and Skagit counties and refer business to trusted professionals outside our direct service areas.
4. One of our core values is Community. We want to lean into exploring, learning about, and knowing the place that we work the most in and be an integral part of the local business community.
5. At the same time, Max and Taylor volunteer in Ferndale, I live in Lynden, Leo really likes working in Blaine and Chris grew up in Ferndale. Which brings us to my final observation:
6. People should work with a professional they know and trust. If your broker works under a nationally-known brand name, does that mean they have expertise in every county they're licensed in? Or if a brokerage name has a real person's full or surname in it, does that strip every broker of their own brand identity? Hardly.
So all in all, we're stoked to continue to sell homes primarily in Whatcom and Skagit counties, highlight local small businesses and nonprofits in our community media, and most importantly, serve our clients with competence and authenticity.
Bham RE Co: the name may be new, but the track record isn't.
